1. Who are Woodstock’s clients?
Woodstock provides investment management services to individuals and families, pension profit-sharing plans, trusts, estates, charitable organizations, corporations, and other business entities. Most Woodstock clients are high-net-worth individuals or trusts.
2. Is Woodstock a fiduciary?
Yes. Woodstock is a fiduciary and registered investment advisor (RIA) and is legally and ethically obligated to act in the best interest of its clients.
3. What is a fiduciary?
A fiduciary is a financial advisor who is legally required to act in a client’s best interest at all times. This means our advice must be objective, transparent, and aligned solely with your goals.
4. Does Woodstock have a minimum asset requirement?
We suggest a portfolio minimum of $1,000,000; however, this minimum can be waived in certain circumstances.
5. Can I hire Woodstock to manage a portion of my assets?
Yes. In many cases, we manage a portion of a client’s overall assets. The scope of our engagement depends on your specific circumstances and will be discussed as part of the planning process with your portfolio manager.
6. How does a new client get started with Woodstock?
We begin with a conversation about your goals, priorities, and financial circumstances. Based on those discussions, your portfolio manager develops an investment strategy tailored to your objectives and oversees the ongoing management of your portfolio.
Our approach generally focuses on high-quality growth equities and debt securities, aligned with your investment objectives and risk profile.
7. Who makes investment decisions for my portfolio?
We typically manage portfolios on a discretionary basis, which means we make investment decisions on your behalf. You may place reasonable restrictions on that authority.
We also offer non-discretionary services, where we provide recommendations and you decide whether to implement them.

8. How are portfolios constructed and managed?
We begin with asset allocation, aligning each portfolio with your risk tolerance and long-term objectives. Portfolios are diversified across multiple sectors and invested in a focused group of high-quality companies and securities. We monitor holdings closely and adjust when appropriate.
9. How is Woodstock compensated for its services?
Woodstock is a fee-only registered investment advisor. We accept no commissions for the sale of securities or products. We charge asset-based fees and performance-based fees.

10. How large is Woodstock?
Woodstock manages approximately $1.2B in client assets as of March 31, 2025.
11. Who owns Woodstock?
Woodstock is majority family owned through Sagamore Operations and Management, LLC, and governed by a board of directors.
12. Where are client assets held?
Client assets are held in your name with Fidelity, which provides independent account custody, reporting, and oversight.
13. Can I choose my own advisor at Woodstock?
Yes, you may request a specific advisor. Not all advisors are able to take on new clients, but we will do our best to accommodate your preference.
14. How often will we communicate with you?
Your portfolio manager is available to meet or speak with you as needed to understand your goals, manage your investments, and coordinate with your tax, trust, and other professional advisors.
15. Does Woodstock coordinate tax, trust, and advisory matters?
Yes. We coordinate with your attorneys and accountants and offer tax-related services and trust administration where appropriate.
