Benjamin G. Dawson returned to Woodstock Corporation in 2020, bringing with him more than 30 years of portfolio construction, investment, analytical and wealth management experience. At Woodstock, he serves as a portfolio manager and trustee for individuals and families in addition to having investment research responsibilities.

Prior to rejoining Woodstock, Ben was a founder, owner, managing director and portfolio manager with Alpha Windward LLC. Founded in 1998, Alpha Windward is a management-owned, registered investment advisor serving individuals, families, private trustees and institutions. In addition to management responsibilities, Ben led the firm’s Blue Chip Growth investment product/strategy, investing in blue chip growth-oriented companies possessing, but not limited to, company characteristics of high quality, above-average sustainable growth rates (high ROE), strategic competitive advantages, strong management teams and solid financial strength.

At Woodstock from 1989 to 1998, Ben was a director, vice president and portfolio manager. Before that he was an assistant vice president with Ulin, Morton, Bradley & Welling, Inc. (investment banking), and an investment analyst with Investments Orange Nassau (venture capital).

Ben is a member of the CFA Society Boston, and a former board of trustees and investment committee member for the Noble & Greenough School. He received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College, and a BA from Princeton University.
